Artist Spotlight – Jackson Atkins
Jackson Atkins is a songwriter from Chanhassen, Minnesota. He got his start in the Minneapolis music scene playing guitar for rock ‘n’ roll band The Goondas, spending the better part of a decade in rowdy clubs and a Ford Econoline. During that time, he continued to write and play the quieter, moodier songs that make up his current setlist. The style is both personal and minimalist, drawing inspiration from long-dead blues and folk legends, as well as contemporaries like Charlie Parr.
