Intro to Writing
Intro to Writing – 101 will be held on Saturday, October 8, at the Chanhassen Library – Longfellow Room.
Have you ever thought about taking a stance in writing? Is there a story inside you but you don’t know the first thing about how to get it onto paper? Start here with Intro to Writing 101, a beginner’s course on the basic principles of plot structure, fleshing out characters, and world-building. We’ll explore simple steps to get your creation started through pop culture analysis and a writing prompt exercise. You’ll also get a writing prompt book to take home to continue your journey outside class!
This class is open to all future writers age 8+ and is only $15 (ACCC members receive 10% off with a membership discount code).
Beginning Stained Glass!
Beginning Stained Glass Class will be held over 4 weeks on Thursdays at 6:30-8:30 pm in the CCC starting October 27 – November 17.
Learn and create at the same time! You will learn all of the steps to create a beautiful stained glass piece of art using the copper foil technique. Each week the instructor will take you step-by-step through the process and will guide you on all the aspects involved in making a unique stained glass creation. You will be working on one project throughout the 4 weeks.
The class fee of $110 includes all of the tools and materials, except for the glass itself. You will be able to choose a design and colors at the first class and can purchase your glass “kit” at that time (expected to be no more than $25). Students will pay for their glass by check, cash, credit card or Venmo during the first session.

Artist of the Month – Angela Nowak-Goloja
I am experimenting with hand-built pieces in which I hand carve designs or add sculptural aspects. Looking at a slab of clay as a canvas affords many creative possibilities for my love of carving motifs of birds, bees, bunnies, and blossoms. My work consists of decorative tiles, animal sculptures, and functional pieces. My hope is that people will enjoy my pieces as much as I enjoy making them.
Inspiration comes from the wild life in the gardens and lake that surround me, as well as vacations by the oceans. I am drawn to the color of water, so you will see a range of blues, aqua & greens on my pieces. I find these colors calming and soothing, much like time spent by the water.
Angela Nowak-Goloja’s work can be found in our Gift Shop.
