Letter from ACCC Board of Directors
We are saddened to announce the resignation of Barb Hone from the ACCC Board of Directors, most recently serving as Member at Large. Barb may be best known as the founder/organizer of ArtStock Art, Wine & Music Festival and the creator of the highly successful Purple Reigns event held last month. Over the years Barb has served on many committees and volunteered at the Arts Center. She always greets every ACCC project as an opportunity to engage with the community. Her smile and abundant amount of energy will be hard to replicate. The ACCC board and members are grateful for all Barb has contributed over the last 11 years. She has been a faithful advocate for the ACCC and we will miss her! Be sure to stop by the Barn Quilt booth at ArtStock to see her!

Art Tourism News
Barn Quilt
The Art Tourism Committee has been working with the County on a barn quilt for the Baylor Regional Park barn in Norwood Young America. This newest barn quilt will join the ever growing open air art gallery of 45+ barn quilts across the County. It is projected to be installed this summer. Carver County artist, Suzanne Theisfeld has designed the quilt.
The Arts Consortium and Art Tourism Committee had previously invited the public to participate in a naming contest to “name” this latest new barn quilt. The winner will be announced at the Taste of NYA on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the Willkommen Memorial Park, in Norwood Young America.
Join us to hear the winning name and enjoy a night of food samples, giveaways, music, family friendly games and activities and more!
Elements of the quilt include maple leaves to represent the seasons and maple syrup production. Other elements represent park activities such as cross country skiing, the beach on Eagle Lake and the heavily used camp grounds. The center image represents the popular Eagle Lake Observatory. The cow is a symbol to the park’s agricultural history as a past working farm. Contact Janet Fahey, Art Tourism, arttourism@artsofcarvercounty.org to learn more.
