Call for Artists and Invitation to the Public to Join us for Writers Read Art

This is an open reading event for writers who have written short prose or poetry about a work of art (visual or literary) in the Members’ Show.  We are issuing a Literary Challenge for people to visit the ACCC Arts Center to choose a work about which to write.

DETAILS
The Literary Committee of the Arts Consortium announces a Literary Challenge to local writers.  During the months of September and early October, you are invited to visit the ACCC Arts Center in Victoria (12-5 on W, Th, F or 9-5 on Sat) to choose a work of art in the Members’ Show that inspires you to write. Then, compose a piece of short prose (up to 2 pages double-spaced) or poetry inspired by that art (visual or literary) to read at our open reading entitled “Writers Read Art” on October 17 at 7pm. We also invite the artists in the Members’ Show to join us for socializing with each other at the event.  We hope you will join us in this Literary Challenge!  If you have questions, please contact Susan Coultrap-McQuin, info below.
