The ACCC is now creating Volume III for The Song Writers and Musicians of Carver County CD

We are inviting musicians and song writers to contact Steve Kelzer if you are interested in participating in the creation of the 3rd ACCC CD.

Seeking current and former Carver County residents.

Original work only, no covers.

Volumes I and II are available for purchase on the ACCC website and the current Volume is given to new members as they join. 100% of the proceeds from the CD sales are donated to the ACCC.

LOUD at the Library Open Mic + Art Night

Smalltown Eclectic & Melsa seeks visual artists to display original artwork at LOUD at the Library Open Mic + Art Night!

Where: Belle Plaine Public Library, 125 West Main Street Directions

When: November 21, 6 – 8pm

Who: Open to all ages & abilities

ACCC ArtMatters Newsletter – June 2016

The release concert will be held Friday evening, June 10, in Chaska City Square Park, starts at 6:30pm. 

The concert will highlight, Chaska native, Sally Barris, A-List songwriter in Nashville.  (Last year the ACCC added her to its list of Honorary Life-Time Members – current or former Carver County artists whose work has achieved national acclaim.) Twenty-two musicians are featured on the CD. They range in age from 16 to 66.

Producer, Steve Kelzer, again this year, has generously donated his time, talent and recording studio to create Vol II.  We, the Arts Consortium of Carver County, thank Steve and each contributing musician.

Minnesota’s premiere Big Band, the JazzMN Orchestra, returns to Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ (CDT) Main Stage with, “JAZZ THROUGH THE DECADES,” in a single performance on Monday, May 2nd. The incomparable Debbie Duncan joins the JazzMN Orchestra as guest vocalist.

“JAZZ THROUGH THE DECADES” will take audiences on a musical journey through the decades. Hear jazz greats from the early 1920’s through 2015 with music of: Jelly Roll Morton, Bessie Smith, and Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Stan Kenton, Dizzy Gillespie, Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald/Nelson Riddle, Herbie Hancock, Chuck Mangione, Pat Metheny, Radiohead, and concluding with a 2015 composition by Snarky Puppy.

CBS Minnesota (WCCO) listed JazzMN as one of the Twin Cities’ Best Jazz Bands: “This is not something you’d find in the intimate, candle-lit joints people imagine. This is pure jazz in all of its glory.”
