Ag Art in Carver County & Surrounding Areas

General Ag Art Submissions received Jan 1 – Feb 28, 2021

Ag Art by K McCann
I love the idea of finding local agricultural art for the Arts Consortium! Here is a photo of my tree person. My maple tree died but I didn’t want it cut all the way down because it supports my clothesline, so I made it into a tree person. His hair is made of weeping willow branches.

This photo is from June 2020.

Kathy McCann - Woodsman

The “Woodsman” was carved in 1986 by a man who had a wood shop in Lyndale, where the Mama’s Happy Shop is now, near Co. Rd. 6 and 92 in Maple Plain, MN. Although he has become weathered, he sits proudly on a stump next to my tool shed.

Silo Art Submissions received March 1 – April 30, 2021

Loren Remer of New Germany, introduces the Carver County Arts Consortium’s “call” for Silo Art. The call will be open March through April.

Inspired by our flag and gratitude for being an American, Loren decided to paint an American flag on his silo.

Note: The Arts Consortium is not a member of any political party or affiliation.

The silo mural was completed during the summer of 2017.

Most of the paint for this mural was recycled, his own and from friends. However, he purchased the red and blue paints for the flag to ensure he had the specific, “American” red and blue.

Loren is proud to have his art be the poster-mural for the Arts Consortium of Carver County’s “call for Silo Art.” And he welcomes folks to his farm at 7190 Cr. 32, New Germany, 55367. He encourages guests to take as many photographs as they wish.

Johnathan Silo

In 2016, the Arts Consortium of Carver County, partnered with the Jonathan Association Board, to create a “Jonathan Silo Design Contest” for a new mural on the silo to the entrance of the Jonathan neighborhood at the corner of Hwy 41 and Hundertmark Road.  Todd Dexter was the winning artist, voted upon by the residents.
