Artists and arts supporters from across the state will join together to secure Arts and Legacy funding for the next two years, making sure Minnesota remains one of the strongest arts communities anywhere. Attendees will speak about the impact that arts funding has had on individual lives and specific communities through the grants of the Minnesota State Arts Board and Regional Arts Councils. ACCC Annual Meeting Recap

Arts Consortium of Carver County

Arts Consortium of Carver County

The annual meeting of the Arts Consortium of Carver County was held on Tuesday, February 19th at the Chanhassen Library.  The Board and several ACCC members were on hand to discuss plans for the future of the organization and celebrate the success of the past year.  The agenda included time to bestow honorary memberships on Richard Krogstad and all of our Carver County school-based arts teachers.  In addition, the treasurer gave a financial report and everyone celebrated the announcement that our 501(c)3 status as a tax-exempt organization has been finalized!  A bulk of the time was spent updating members on the many projects, events, initiatives, and activities that the ACCC is involved in.  The meeting concluded with a healthy conversation about resource development, membership, and corporate sponsorship as we move the Arts Consortium of Carver County forward into the future as a sustainable organization.

Governor Dayton released his proposed budget this past week. In the context of a possible $1 billion state deficit, the proposal can be seen as good news.  The Governor proposed no cuts to the Minnesota State Arts Board and Regional Arts Council general fund budget.  The general fund is where arts funding has always come from, prior to the passage of the additional Arts Legacy Fund.  His proposal would provide just over $7.5 million to the Arts Board and Continue reading
